Guilford’s 375th Anniversary Website

Guilford's 375th Anniversary WebsiteDescription:

The Town of Guilford was 1 of 4 Connecticut towns celebrating its 375th Anniversary in 2014. The Guilford 375 Anniversary Committee was looking to develop a website that would provide information about its 5 signature celebration events, raise funds to support the 375th Anniversary activities, enlist volunteers, provide a vehicle for communication with town residents who have questions or ideas, build community and buzz around the Town of Guilford’s 375th, and support its mission to raise awareness of the Town’s heritage, current life, and future possibilities.

Testimonial:

“I have had the pleasure of working with Lisa on the planning and implementation of Guilford’s 375th Celebration, occurring throughout 2014. She has invested her time and talents with a particular focus on our web communication visibility, including designing our website and building out the content. Lisa has helped us visualize a “big picture” but then is able to transfer that into the detailed pieces required to get our message across. I find Lisa creative, well organized, and very cooperative, very much a team player. She is an excellent writer who generates material that is interesting, informative, and entertaining. She promises a lot, and delivers more.”  – Brian McGlone, Economic Development Coordinator for the Town of Guilford, CT

Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine

Description:

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine is set to open its doors in Fall 2013. It is Connecticut’s third and only medical school committed to educating primary care physicians and to interprofessional health care education, and the state’s first new medical school in more than 50 years. Fueled by the pressing need for primary care collaboration in today’s rapidly-changing landscape of health care delivery, the Netter School of Medicine joins Quinnipiac University’s Schools of Health Sciences and Nursing to form the new Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. All this needed to be articulated in a 20-page fundraising brochure highlighting the rare philanthropic naming opportunities available for individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Contributions:

  • Researched America’s pressing need for primary care physicians and interprofessional health care education
  • Interviewed three deans and two academic directors to gather historical and visionary perspectives of the existing schools and new Center
  • Profiled administration through testimonials and short bios
  • Wrote all copy and designed rough draft in page layout format for at-a-glance review and approval purposes

Testimonial:

“Lisa was able to take a complex issue and weave together all the moving parts into a comprehensive, readable format. The final product is educational, motivational and, thus, highly effective.”

– Donald J. Weinbach, Vice President for Development & Alumni Affairs, Quinnipiac University
